Y4 Litter Pick

As a class we talked about different habitats across the globe (desert, mountains, ocean, river, countryside etc) and which species was causing the most problems for other animals – humans!

We talked about how in particular our demands for food and computer technology, such as mobile phones or games consoles, has led to huge areas of forests being  destroyed and millions of tonnes of plastic being dumped into the sea.

Year 4 then went to explore our own school yard, where we found large amounts of rubbish, plants dying because of people walking through them and huge areas concreted over.

We pledged to be more considerate of our environment and then tidied away lots of rubbish during a class litter pick.
