<p>Our first School Council and Eco meeting went very well. The children were full of ideas to make a positive difference in school. We have some exciting events coming up so watch this space&#8230;.</p>

<p>To mark Children&#8217;s Mental Health week, we celebrated, &#8216;Dress to Express&#8217; day in school. The children were given an opportunity to wear clothes to express their personalities. Some wore clothes they would wear every day, some dressed in fancy dress and we even had our very own Michael Jackson! In addition to this, they did [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We now have a new panel of School Councillors and Eco Squad members. Those children who were interested in the roles put their names forward and a secret vote was held in each classroom. We are sure that the School Council and Eco Squad members are going to do great things this year at St [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Our School Council members have done a fantastic job this week of selling poppies. The money raised will go to support the Royal British Legion. We will let you know how much we have raised for this important charity in the coming weeks.</p>

<p>Today we practised our right to vote by voting for our School Council Reps. We discussed what it means to live in a democratic society.Congratulations to our winners: Harley and Amelia!</p>

<p>As part of Friendship Week, our children came to school dressed in odd socks. We wore odd socks to school to remind us that we are all different, unique and special in our own way.  Here we designing our odd socks&#8230;.</p>

<p>Year 1 have really enjoyed all the activities planned during Friendship Week. They worked with Miss McHugh and thought about their friendships. They used a ball of wool to demonstrate how we are an unbroken web of friendships.</p>

<p>To bring our Friendship Week to a close, the children have all made friendship pledges. These have been written onto card people and decorated. The friendship pledges are now on display in our classroom to remind us that we all have a part to play in building positive relationships with others.</p>

<p>Our Friendship Bus Stops were launched this week and have proved very popular with the children. Friendship Squad members have been on the look out all week for anyone standing at the friendship bus stop in need of a friend.</p>

<p>The children of St Lawrence&#8217;s were keen to support the Royal British Legion in the run up to Remembrance Day. We will soon find out how much we raised for this important charity so watch this space!</p>
